In den 14 parishes (Landkreise) gibt es so viel zu Entdecken \u2013 meistens nat\u00fcrlich abseits der gro\u00dfen Tourismus Areas.Wir haben meistens das Gl\u00fcck, dass wir \u00fcber connections aller Art das \u201ewahre Jamaika\u201c kennenlernen und erleben k\u00f6nnen. Zeit f\u00fcr Trips bleibt uns meistens nur am Wochenende, da der Unterricht uns unter der Woche alle Zeit und Energie abverlangt. Umso sch\u00f6ner ist es dann auch, am Wochenende mal rauszukommen \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Ein Ausflug f\u00fchrte uns nach Port Royal. Eigentlich nur ein sehr kleiner, verschlafener Fischerort, der am Rande des Hafenbeckens liegt, welches Kingston umgibt. Dennoch ist es ein sehr geschichtstr\u00e4chtiger Ort: fr\u00fcher war es nicht nur das Hauptquartier der Piraten der Karibik um Sir Henry Morgan, auch wurde das gro\u00dfe Fort Charles (Befestigungsanlage), aufgrund der g\u00fcnstigen Lage, dort errichtet. So spielten wir also ein bisschen Pirat und erkundeten das gesamte Gel\u00e4nde mit den alten Gem\u00e4uern und Kanonen.\n\t\t<style type=\"text\/css\">\n\t\t\t#gallery-1 {\n\t\t\t\tmargin: Schifferboot auf die Insel Lime Cay. Diese Insel l\u00e4sst sich mit einem Wort beschrieben: WOW! Mitten im Meer, ohne jegliche Besiedlung, nur mit ein paar Palmen und wei\u00dfen Sandstrand &#8211; wie entsprungen aus einem Hochglanzmagazin. Oh man, ein karibischer Traum wurde war. Innerhalb von 10 Minuten konnte man die ganze Insel umrunden, wir genossen das Sonnenbad und schwammen im t\u00fcrkis-blauen Wasser. Au\u00dfer uns waren nur eine handvoll Jamaikaner da und das Highlight war dann, als wir am Ende des Tages wirklich die Letzten, und somit alleine, auf der Insel waren. Es ist ein fantastisches Gef\u00fchl, ganz alleine auf einer einsamen Insel mitten im Meer zu sein, von dem Sonnenuntergang ganz zu schweigen&#8230;\n\t\t<style type=\"text\/css\">\n\t\t\t#gallery-2 uns mit unserer jamaikanischen Familie auf nach Cane Rivers. Hoch oben gelegen in den Blue Mountains, ist dieser Fluss zum Gl\u00fcck den meisten Touristen verborgen geblieben. Den Rastas ist der Wasserfall eigentlich haupts\u00e4chlich ein Begriff, da es hei\u00dft Bob Marley h\u00e4tte dort seine natty dreads (Dreadlocks) gewaschen. Umgeben von riesigen Felsen f\u00fchrte eine, grob in den Fels gehauene, bemalte Steintreppe hinunter zu einigen nat\u00fcrlichen Wasserbecken mit Wasserfall. Das Wasser war erstaunlich kalt, auch der einsetzende Regen machte es nicht besser. Culture Yard ein Niyabinghi (ein bestimmter \u201eRastastamm\u201c) Rastafest. Das war wirklich super beeindruckend und die Stimmung dort l\u00e4sst sich nur schwer in Worte fassen \u2013 in einem Zelt spielten einige alte Rastas mit schneewei\u00dfen Dreads riesige Trommeln, Kettledrums und Shaker, die \u00fcbrigen Rastas bewegten sich fast wie in Trance im Rhythmus mit und sangen afrikanische Ges\u00e4nge. Haile Selassie I. wurde als Messias besungen und verehrt. Man f\u00fchlte sich ein bisschen in die Vergangenheit zur\u00fcck versetzt, wie im Dschungel mit Buschtrommeln \u2013 ganz \u201eback to the roots\u201c. Dieses Parish ganz im Osten von Jamaika gilt als sch\u00f6nstes Parish der ganzen Insel, und das nicht ohne Grund! Die Gegend ist bekannt f\u00fcr ihre traumhaften Str\u00e4nde, in den Bergen gibt es viele Wasserf\u00e4lle und die gesamte Natur ist einfach unglaublich gr\u00fcn. Egal wo man hinschaut: Nur Gr\u00fcne oder das Meer. Wir hatten das gro\u00dfe Gl\u00fcck, dass wir auf einer Weihnachtsfeier des deutschen Botschafters eine ganz besondere Deutsche kennengelernt hatten, die schon lange in Jamaika lebt und in Portland eine Pension betreibt. Da sie unsere Situation kennt ( \u201earme\u201c Freiwilligendienstleitende ohne Geld \ud83d\ude42 ) und unsere Arbeit sehr wertsch\u00e4tzt, gab sie uns die M\u00f6glichkeit, zu einem super Preis in ihrem zweiten Haus zu wohnen, welches noch nicht ganz fertig renoviert war. Das war f\u00fcr uns aber gar kein Problem &#8211; direkt aus Trenchtown kommend, f\u00fchlten wir uns sogar ein bisschen wie im Luxus mit flie\u00dfendem Wasser, Wasserkocher, super bequemen Sesseln im Wohnzimmer und absoluter Stille und Platz im Haus. Und das beste: Nur ein 5 min-langer Fu\u00dfmarsch trennte uns von einer wundersch\u00f6nen kleinen Bucht mit Sandstrand. Das Fleckchen hie\u00df Boston Beach und war au\u00dferdem ein super Surfer-Spot. So lernten wir gleich einen Surfer kennen, der mit uns an einem Abend sogar in seiner provisorischen Feuerk\u00fcche direkt am Strand einen super leckeren Ital-Stou (eine Art jamaikanischer Eintopf) \/>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Am n\u00e4chsten Tag machten wir uns auf in den Dschungel zu den Reach Falls. Mit einem local F\u00fchrer konnten wir den gesamten Fluss mit vielen T\u00fcmpeln, Steinen und Gumpen \u201ehoch waten\u201c bis zu dem eigentlichen Wasserfall. Zum Teil waren die nat\u00fcrlichen Wasserbecken so tief, dass wir von den Felsen kleine Sprungk\u00fcnste vollf\u00fchren konnten. Unsere Gastgeberin ist auch eine Pferden\u00e4rrin, besitzt ein eigenes Pferd und hat einen Freund, der Pferdetouren anbietet. Da ich als ehemalige Reiterin hier in Jamaika unbedingt das Horsebackriding ausprobieren wollte, packte ich die einmalige Chance am Schopf: Die Deutsche meinte total locker, dass sie mir ihr Pferd Blacks leihen w\u00fcrde, und so durfte ich einen Ausritt mit Scotti dem Pferdefl\u00fcsterer machen. Scotti ist eine unglaubliche Pers\u00f6nlichkeit, fast schon ein Genie \ud83d\ude42 Seine Ausstrahlung und Denke l\u00e4sst sich eigentlich nicht beschreiben, das muss man erleben! Ich wurde mit einem \u00fcberaus warmen und herzlichen \u201egood morning my darling\u201c von ihm begr\u00fc\u00dft und los ging der Ritt. Zuerst wollte er mir einige seiner \u201eDestinations\u201c (Pl\u00e4tze) zeigen: Nachdem wir auf seiner \u201eFarm\u201c (eine riesige Wiese mit mit einem kleinen \u00fcberdachten f\u00fcr die S\u00e4ttel und Zaumzeug) sein Pferd Queen geholt hatten ging es im schnellen Trab hinauf in die Berge \u2013 von dort hatte man eine klasse Aussicht \u00fcber ganz Zion Hill und das Meer. Danach f\u00fchrte er mich quer durch den Dschungel zu Winnifred\u00b4s Beach. Eigentlich ein beliebter Touristenstrand, aber zu der fr\u00fchen Stunde waren wir neben den Verk\u00e4ufern die Einzigen dort. Also schnell Bikini angezogen, Pferde abgesattelt und ab ins Meer. Ein unglaubliches Gef\u00fchl, mit den Pferden direkt ins Meer zu reiten, bis sie anfangen zu schwimmen. Nachdem wir sie dann im Meer noch gewaschen und geputzt hatten, sind wir selber noch eine Runde geschwommen. Dann g\u00f6nnte sich Scotti noch einen sch\u00f6nen Rum (&#8222;Man muss ja warm bleiben&#8220;), bevor es langsam Richtung Haus zur\u00fcck ging \u2013 nat\u00fcrlich nicht ohne ausgiebig am Strand entlang galoppiert zu sein. Aber damit nicht genug, danach servierte sie uns sogar noch einen Kaffee (mein Erster auf Jamaika, da Kaffee hier wirklich schweineteuer ist) und deutsche Schokolade \u2013 waaah! Unsere Gastgeberin ist auch von ganz besonderen Menschen umgeben. Bei tollen Gespr\u00e4chen verga\u00df man schnell die Zeit und als \u201eSahneh\u00e4ubchen\u201c wurden wir noch in die Kochkunst der original jamaikanische hei\u00dfe Schokolade eingeweiht. (Echter Kakao mit Kokosmilch aufgekocht, bisschen Muskat oder Piment dazu &#8211; fertig!) Es g\u00e4be noch so viel zu erz\u00e4hlen von diesem tollen Ausflug, aber hier muss ich jetzt mal einen Punkt machen.<\/p>\n<p>Unser letzter Ausflug f\u00fchrte uns nach Montego Bay. Anlass hierf\u00fcr war, dass eine Freiwillige zur\u00fcck nach Deutschland gegangen ist, und wir sie zum Flughafen gebracht haben. Der Abschied war traurig, vor allem weil jeder von uns wusste, dass dieser Moment f\u00fcr jeden\u00a0 kommen w\u00fcrde. Auch in MoBay konnten wir durch Connections (die Deutschen hier auf Jamaika sind wirklich top vernetzt) kostenlos bei einer Deutschen \u00fcbernachten. Und das Haus war nicht irgendein Haus \u2013 es war eine richtig sch\u00f6ne alte Villa: Gro\u00dfer Garten mit Pool, Mangobaum, Kokospalmen (die zum Klettern einluden) und Ausblick aus Meer, Ankunft zeigte sie uns den Yachtclub, wo wir, fast schon deluxe, mit einem Smoothie, bzw. Drink den Sonnenuntergang genossen. Sonst ist Montego Bay als Stadt nicht wirklich interessant \u2013 haupts\u00e4chlich auf den Tourismus ausgerichtet, wird man von fliegenden H\u00e4ndlern und Stra\u00dfenverk\u00e4ufern, die einem allen m\u00f6glichen Ramsch andrehen wollen, nur so belagert. Umso sch\u00f6ner ist das kleine St\u00e4dtchen Falmouth \u00f6stlich von Montego Bay. In der von Mangroven umgebenen Luminous Lagoon leben kleine Mikroorganismen, die fluoreszieren. Sprich: Wenn man nachts in das Wasser springt, f\u00e4ngt pl\u00f6tzlich alles um einen herum an geheimnisvoll zu leuchten (die Organismen fangen an zu leuchten, sobald sie bewegt werden). Es schien, als w\u00fcrde unsere ganze Haut glitzern. Auch der Boden ist ein Ph\u00e4nomen \u2013 er ist total schlammig von den abgelagerten \u201eMangrovenabf\u00e4llen\u201c und die Jungs lie\u00dfen es sich nicht nehmen, uns von oben bis unten mit Schlamm zu bewerfen, bis wirklich jeder ein komplettes Schlammbad genommen hatte. Eine weit verbreitete Geschichte dort ist auch, das Usain Bolt nur so schnell ist, weil er so oft in dieser Lagune mit dem Schlamm gebadet hat.
